The space industry is an exciting place to be – technology advancements and cost reductions across the industry are fuelling a vibrant new space economy. Rapid growth in the commercial sector and the development of new space applications promise to benefit people globally, improving communication, education, healthcare, access to information, and a host of other services. Like any terrestrial ecosystem, the one emerging in space will need supporting services. ClearSpace was founded in 2018 with the mission of making this thriving commercial space economy more sustainable, affordable, and reliable by offering a wide variety of in-orbit services.

ClearSpace was selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) for its first flagship in-orbit servicing mission, focused on active debris removal (ADR). The ground-breaking ClearSpace-1 Mission will launch in 2025 and will safely deorbit an uncontrolled ESA owned object, the first step in cleaning up space for future generations. The technology developed and expertise gained on this mission will accelerate ClearSpace’s entrance into the commercial in-orbit service market, where we will provide the wide range of services that the new space economy will need. ClearSpace is not addressing the challenges of this missions alone, it is supported by a consortium of some of the most exciting space companies and organizations in Europe.

To meet the challenges of the ClearSpace-1 Mission, and future commercial opportunities, ClearSpace is currently scaling its team of passionate employees further in both Switzerland and the UK. ClearSpace is actively recruiting a part time 1st & 2nd Level IT Support Engineer, 50% to 80% in Switzerland. Come and join our adventure!

ClearSpace partners with other companies active in the space industry, this position if for 50% for ClearSpace but you will have the possibility to work up to 80% by performing the same tasks for one of our partner companies in the same area.

The Role
The successful candidate will be a member of the IT Team and will help ensure availability of all IT systems and end-user computing needed for ClearSpace's missions.

Key activities will be:
Care for end-user support request through a ticking system.
Provide 1st level IT Support, mainly MS-Office Applications and some dedicated applications used in our field.
Prepare workstations for new joiners, we provide two standardized builds, one on Windows, one on MacOS.
Keep track of IT inventory and ensure its correctness.
Update and maintain technical documentation for the IT department.
Troubleshoot IT issues and act as 2nd level support, escalate to L3 and ensure timely ticket follow-ups.
Provide (configuration) support for infrastructure components like printers, network systems, e.g., switches, routers, and access points.

Required Experience:
At least 2 years in a similar role.
Experience with Office365 deployments, 100% cloud-based.
Experience with ticketing systems and project execution.
Good knowledge of Windows 10/11 and MacOS as end-user platforms.
Good knowledge of Android and IOS for the configuration and support of mobile devices.

Desired Education:
Vocational, ETS or similar.

A great communicator.
Good level of English, our working language. French is a plus.
