Accounting Manager
Our client, an international Bank, is actively looking for an Accounting Manager.

1) Assisting with the preparation of Financial Statements:
  • Ensuring reconciliation of all accounts before preparation of reports.
  • Preparing the month-end and year-end provisions and adjustments.
  • Booking / supervising of the related adjustments.
  • Preparing the fixed assets and amortization table on a monthly basis.

2) Preparation of legal reports:
  • Preparing legal reports for SNB and FINMA
  • Ensuring the accuracy of these reports in accordance with the rules and regulations.
  • Respecting the deadline.
  • Following up on new regulations and initiating their implementation.

3) Taxation matters:
  • Ensuring that the Bank does not have any outstanding obligations related to tax issues of any kind.
  • Ensuring the calculation of all taxes that are born through a transaction when necessary (VAT, Stamp tax, Withholding tax, EU tax, US tax, etc.).
  • Preparing tax returns.
  • Ensuring that all taxes are accounted and correctly paid on time.
  • Providing the communication with tax auditors for the sake of tax issues important for the Bank.

4) Handling accounting and reporting problems from Bank System and modifications together with the System Provider:
  • Preparing all analyses before any modifications.
  • Creating new inquiries.
  • Supervising all requests made to System Provider.

5) Weekly and monthly cash controls:
  • Following up on cash limits on a weekly basis.
  • Carrying out the reconciliation of the cash position in Central Registry and preparing the related report.

6) Control and validation of general accounting entries made by the Accounting department:
  • Controlling expense reports and related accounting entries.
  • Reviewing other payables and receivables and identifying recovery problems for receivables or long-term outstanding amounts or incorrect bookings. If necessary, reports to Head of Financial Control and Risk Management.
  • Ensuring that all accruals are calculated and booked correctly.
  • Controlling the profit and loss accounts for invoices related with general and administrative expenses.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of transitory and suspense accounts.
  • Supervising the Assistant to Chief Accountant.

7) Organizing the duties between Financial Control & Risk Management and Middle office:
  • Providing co-ordination between Financial Control & Risk Management and Middle Office for reconciliation work.

8) Providing assistance related to Payroll accounting to Human Resources

  • Bachelor degree required in one of the following disciplines: Economic Sciences, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting.
  • Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager in the banking industry
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct and supervise
