Analytical Lead - Chemistry

Your assignment

Purpose of the Job
The position is the primary contact point between project teams and the testing labs of PMI, both internal and external. They will act as the single entry point into the testing labs to ensure the correct testing of the appropriate quality is carried out at the right time to allow project teams to deliver against plan.

The position will be responsible for initiating, coordinating and managing analytical studies and to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the results to the relevant stakeholders.

The position will also provide a single point of contact for the analytical labs to ensure all information required for effective testing of products is available when required.

The post holder will be responsible for short- and medium-term analytical demand signalling to the Forecasting Lead and the testing labs to allow appropriate forecasting and resourcing of the test labs.

Accountability 1
Provide single point of contact for the project teams into testing labs to facilitate required testing to be carried out for project delivery.

Accountability 2
To ensure only the correct testing of the appropriate quality is carried out at the correct time ALs will be required:
?to attend relevant project meetings and understand project aims and deliverables, and how they lead to likely testing requirements.
?to announce, plan and prioritise testing with the TL&G organisation.

Accountability 3
Provide platform specific knowledge and test plan clarifications to the TL&G organisation to allow testing to be carried out on new and novel prototypes.

Accountability 4
Ensure data released to project is accurate and reliable; ?Right first time testing?.

Accountability 5
Work in close cooperation with scientists and laboratory technicians of Laboratory Management and with R&D partners.

Accountability 6
Provide analytical expertise and advice to Research & Development and Operations clients.

Your profile

Education
Batchelor Degree in chemistry or related field with minimum 5 yrs experience in analytical or study director role.
Master Degree in analytical chemistry or related field with minimum 2 yrs experience in analytical or study director role.

Work Experience

At least 5 years work experience in an analytical laboratory, with hands-on experience with analytical techniques highly desirable.
Good working knowledge of requirements sample analysis, planning and management of scientific studies.
Knowledge and experience of analytical sciences in a certified environment, ISO17025 and/or cGxP.
Ideally at least 3 years? experience in the tobacco industry (RRPs) in an analytical role.
Ideally 1-2 years experience as a study director or account manager in an analytical CRO.
Knowledge and experience of analytical sciences in a certified environment, ISO17025 and/or cGxP.

Functional Skills
Technical know-how:
Good knowledge of standard analytical techniques and technology.
Knowledge of smoke constituents and RRP HPHCs
Knowledge in quality standards (e.g ISO, GxPs).
Very good knowledge in the areas of project management, and in practical aspects of accreditation and adherence to relevant regulatory guidelines.
