Assistant Journalist


An assistant journalist will support the bureau chief for reporting the news, taking on tasks which will build skills to be a journalist.



Key responsibilities


  • Attend press conferences by UN, international organizations, corporations, etc and report on the content to the bureau chief
  • Enhance relationships with relating organizations
  • Check, research, and fact check into the relative news, obtain comments from people, and send partial articles or memos to the bureau chief
  • Photographing, making transcripts for interview articles
  • Plan and propose original articles
  • Will have chances to write your own articles on Nikkei Asian Review (English) if and when skills are sufficient


Your profile to succeed together


  • University degree or equivalent
  • Excellent skill in English
  • Fluency in either French or German (a plus if both)
  • Experience in journalism is a big plus
  • Strong interest in economy, businesses, and consumer trends
