Job Description
As an Automation & Industrial IT Project Engineer, you will lead and support automation, modernization, and virtualization initiatives within a GMP-regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & SCADA/PLC
- Lead SCADA/PLC modernization projects (iFIX, WinCC, Siemens TIA Portal) from design to commissioning.
- Work on additional systems including iFIX, Aveva InTouch, and Homerun as required by site activities.
- Develop and modify programs in Contact language within Siemens environments.
Systems & Virtualization
- Design, deploy, and maintain VMware ESXi infrastructures dedicated to OT systems.
- Administer industrial servers (SCADA, SQL Server) and support backup & disaster recovery strategies.
Project Management & Supplier Coordination
- Coordinate supplier activities, schedules, and deliverables.
- Provide clear governance and regular updates to internal stakeholders.
Electrical & Shopfloor Integration
- Contribute to electrical revamping projects: reading/updating wiring diagrams and supporting on-site integration.
Qualification & CSV (Support Role)
- Support CSV and qualification activities (F AT/SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ) in alignment with GAMP 5, GMP, and 21 CFR Part 11.
OT Networking & Cybersecurity
- Implement OT networking best practices: TCP/IP, VLAN configuration, segmentation, cybersecurity hardening.
Vision Systems & Packaging
- Support or lead activities on Cognex vision systems and packaging equipment on site.
Documentation & Quality
- Draft and maintain technical documentation, functional specifications, and change controls.
- Support CAPA, deviations, and non-conformance management.
The Successful Applicant
- 5-10+ years of experience in automation/industrial IT, ideally in pharma/biotech or other regulated industries.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC, iFIX; experience with Aveva InTouch is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of Cognex vision systems and packaging systems is a significant advantage.
- Proficiency with Contact language programming (Siemens).
- Confirmed experience with VMware/ESXi for OT environments.
- Solid ability to read/modify electrical drawings and contribute to revamping/retrofit projects.

- Strong understanding of industrial networks (TCP/IP, VLANs, segmentation) and OT cybersecurity.
