Description
Join Techfirm as an Automation Expert to collaborate with Lonza’s Automation team of 30 specialists on transformative projects, including implementing a complete MES system change and technology transfers for mammalian bioprocessing. You will play a key role in managing critical automation tasks, working closely with deployment partners, and leading technical validation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation-related specifications and documentation
- Perform offline and online coding, testing, and peer reviews of automation components
- Lead execution of Automation Change Records (ACRs), Quality Change Records, and commissioning test documentation
- Act as the automation point of contact for unit operations, driving issue resolution and change implementation for complex projects
- Assess proposed changes and analyze discrepancies during manufacturing
- Troubleshoot process, equipment, and system malfunctions or failures
- Contribute to setting automation policies and standards on site
- Implement innovative automation approaches to enhance quality and efficiency
- Manage and collaborate with external deployment teams, serving as a project manager to validate technical deliverables
- Focus on recipe writing and transition from Syncade to PharmaSuite MES, reviewing supplier outputs and coordinating approvals
Candidate Profiles
- Position 1: Strong expertise in DeltaV DCS systems
- Position 2: Strong expertise in MES PharmaSuite, with Syncade experience considered a plus
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in automation within pharmaceutical or related industries
- Strong knowledge of MES systems (particularly PharmaSuite), DCS control platforms (DeltaV), or both depending on the role
- Experience in managing MES system implementations and complex interface configurations between DeltaV, SAP, LIMS, and MES
- Proven skills in project management working with internal and external teams
- Excellent English communication skills (working language of the team)
- Comfortable working in a multicultural, gender-balanced team environment
Contract Details
- Start Date: Between 15 September and 15 October 2025
- Duration: Minimum 1 year with extension already requested
