Compliance Officer Financial Crime Investigations

Bank Lombard Odier in Geneva is looking for a candidate to fulfil the following mission statement :


  • Undertaking investigations of potential Financial Crime issues identified by the Swiss Compliance team, i.e. possible breaches of policy or regulation in respect of Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorism and Financial Sanctions / Embargos;
  • Working closely with colleagues in other departments (such as Fraud, Risk, Front Office, CP COO, Operations and/or Human Resources) to ensure a full understanding of the issues involved, including conducting face-to-face interviews if necessary;
  • Writing and presenting concise & thorough reports of your findings, which clearly articulate the events, risks and outcomes of the investigation;
  • Preparing adhoc case reports as required for the Bank Due Diligence Committee or other audiences;
  • Responding to requests from external auditors or Regulatory authorities;
  • Lending occasional support to the AML Transaction Monitoring and SILBA teams in their tasks (including transaction analysis, account opening checks, KYC or other specific reviews, AML training programs);
  • Management Information (MIS) – compiling of data (including full audit trail and log of cases investigated) and producing monthly/quarterly reports and other ad-hoc reports as required for senior management.


  • Strong skills in the financial services industry, ideally within Private Banking.
  • Good understanding of the Swiss regulatory environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required or evidence of comparable academic / work achievement.
  • Ability to summarize complex topics, to drive practical outcomes and to make sound decisions or proposals, including escalation when appropriate, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and against short deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, presentation and influencing skills. In particular, a proven ability to foster productive relationships with front office staff and senior management.
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate to Switzerland.
