The European Respiratory Society (ERS) is the leading European professional organisation in the field of Lung Health. It is a non-profit organisation which aims to develop awareness of lung health and respiratory medicine by organising congresses, seminars and educational meetings for the medical community in Europe. It currently has more than 20,000 members from over 100 countries.

Reporting to the Director of Congress & Events, assist the Congress & Events team in organizing meetings, conferences and the Annual Congress.

List of tasks and activities

-          Assist the team with the organizing of all events and thoroughly followed up to the end:

-          Maintain events related data & files

-          Create Content Management System

-          Restaurant & Venue Sourcing

-          Administrative task of flight bookings, agenda preparations and writing of minutes

-          Provide constant updates and status to Coordinators on all projects

-          Assist Director of Congress & Events when requested

-          Produce weekly task report of the department (when required)

-          Able to travel (occasionally during weekends) and 2 weeks during the Annual Congress

Key Skills and Competencies:

-          Experience in handling administrative tasks, ideally in an international environment

-          Fluent in English (written and spoken), French, German & Spanish will be added advantage

-          Excellent knowledge of Microsoft programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)

-          Willing to learn, proactive, team player, enthusiastic, independent, able to work under pressure

-          Swiss nationality or valid working permit
