Job Description

Drafting and managing commercial and maritime claims, ensuring timely issuance in line with contractual and regulatory deadlines (time-bar management).

Analyzing contractual and operational documentation to assess and determine claimable amounts, leading to the preparation of claims and invoices.

Leading negotiations from initial comments to final settlement, including payment follow-up and management of outstanding balances.

Reviewing incoming claims to verify validity, conducting negotiations, issuing reminders, and processing approved payments.

Maintaining accurate administrative and digital records, with real-time updates that allow reliable monitoring and consolidation of data by company, counterparty, and activity.

Safeguarding the financial consistency and accuracy of each case.

Collaborating daily with cross-functional teams, including trading and shipping operators, traders, middle office, and legal advisors.
The Successful Applicant

Degree in Business School or University program in International Trade, Maritime/Commercial Law, Logistics, or Finance.

Fluent English, both written and spoken, required.

Experience in demurrage claim management, international transport, logistics, and/or international trade, with strong understanding of contracts, trading and chartering activities, as well as the impact of geopolitics and environmental constraints on the commodities market.

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, negotiation ability, dynamism, analytical mindset, rigor, and organizational strength.
