Role Overview
There is an opportunity at Aurel BGC on the Futures & Options desk in our Geneva office.
The Desk Assistant will provide day-to-day support to the Futures & Options brokers with a focus on Rates, ensuring the efficient running of the desk while gaining exposure to global derivatives markets. Working closely with experienced brokers, the successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of futures and options products, trading workflows, market dynamics, and client service.
This role is suited to a highly organised, analytical and driven individual with a genuine interest in financial markets and the desire to progress into a broking career.

Responsibilities:
Assist brokers in the day-to-day tasks associated with executing trades
Provide administrative and operational support to the Futures & Options broking team.
Inputting trades into the internal booking systems.
Sending information to clients and collating data.
Liaise with clients via telephone and in person.
Assist with client development and business generation.
Monitor markets and follow financial news and developments.
Regulatory Status
The role holder is expected to demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and regulatory awareness at all times.
The individual will operate in full alignment with all relevant regulatory obligations, internal compliance frameworks, and desk-level procedures.
This includes maintaining a strong understanding of applicable rules, adhering to internal policies, and ensuring all activities are conducted in a controlled, transparent, and compliant manner.
Holding a CISI certifications are considered advantageous.
Personal Attributes
The role holder will be able to demonstrate the following:
1 – 2 years’ experience in a Front office environment
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Demonstrable interest in global financial markets, particularly listed interest rate futures and options.
Understanding of interest rates, macroeconomics is advantageous.
Strong interest in commodity markets, trading, or broking
High level of attention to detail, especially in a trade-processing environment
Comfortable working in a data-heavy, high-pressure environment
Personal and professional integrity and credibility.
Confident and personable with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and customers.
Resilience, resolve, persistence, and competitive attitude with the ability to work in a high pressured, intense environment.
Is self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative.
A strong team player, who works well with others and can establish positive working relationships.

Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VBA preferred)
Experience with coding/scripting (Python, VBA, or similar)
Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualisation tools
Strong analytical mindset and numerical skills.
Basic understanding of financial services industry, and the sector in which the organization operates.
Good understanding of/or ability to understand relevant technologies.
Clear and confident verbal and written skills.
