For our client, a fast growing, medium-sized, commodity trading company, we are currently looking for a :
DUE DILIGENCE OFFICER / CUSTOMER ONBOARDING SPECIALIST
Job Description
The successful candidate will deliver the following outcomes:
Timely KYC Registrations: Successfully complete KYC registrations for group subsidiaries in collaboration with external partners and suppliers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Thorough Information Verification: Conduct in-depth research to verify provided information, utilizing tools such as World Check and internet searches to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.
Policy and Procedure Monitoring: Assist in reviewing and monitoring company policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Filings: Support the preparation and timely submission of regulatory filings, reports, and documentation as required by governing bodies.
Documentation Management: Maintain, update, and organize compliance-related documentation and records to support audit readiness and regulatory obligations.
Training and Awareness: Participate in compliance training programs and contribute to raising employee awareness of key compliance obligations and policies.
Due Diligence Support: Assist with Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and customer due diligence processes across relevant counterparties.
Regulatory Updates: Monitor changes to relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and assist with the integration of updates into internal compliance frameworks.
Sanctions & Financial Crime Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with national and international sanctions regimes, anti-bribery and corruption laws, and anti-money laundering regulations.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments such as legal, risk, and operations to support and promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum 1 year work experience in a similar role
- A tertiary Level of Education
- Experience within Oil and Gas is not necessary however would be considered a great asset.
- Be detailed orientated, ability to multitask and work well with minimum supervision.
- Fluent in English with working knowledge in French considered an asset.
- Attention to Detail: Maintains a high level of accuracy when reviewing, recording, and verifying compliance and KYC documentation, reducing the risk of errors and omissions.
- Analytical Thinking: Able to assess client information and identify potential risks or irregularities, contributing to sound compliance decisions and risk management processes.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic regulatory environment and able to quickly respond to changes in compliance requirements, procedures, or priorities.
