Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting and Consolidation Expert to join our Finance department.
As key member of our department, you will be part of a dynamic team and play a central role in the elaboration of the Group-s consolidated financial statements prepared according to International Financial Reporting Standards (-IFRS-). You will support the Group in its consolidation activities and ensure compliance with IFRS and other applicable accounting standards in close collaboration with the vide-directors and director of the Finance department.
Key responsibilities
- Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements under IFRS;
- Draft and maintain accounting policies, ensuring alignment with IFRS and Swiss regulatory requirements (PCB FINMA);
- Provide technical accounting expertise on IFRS matters, including new standards, amendments, and their impact on the Group
- Assess complex accounting issues under IFRS and other applicable accounting standards
- Monitor developments from the IASB and interpret their potential effects on the Group;
- Perform detailed analysis of the IFRS impacts whenever a new product or service is launched;
- Contribute to and/or lead group wide strategic finance projects (e.g. M&A, PPA, integration of new companies, first consolidation, pension, other change in equity-) and assess their accounting and financial disclosure impact
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (including Controlling & Risk, ALM & Treasury and others) to provide guidance on complex accounting topics;Coordinate with external auditors and respond to technical accounting queries;
- Assist in ad-hoc projects and tasks relating to accounting and reporting;
- Act as a back-up for tasks of other team members during their absence.
Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) strongly preferred;
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in IFRS accounting in a financial institution/bank;
- Deep understanding of IFRS standards relevant to Swissquote-s industry (e.g., IFRS 9, IAS 19, IAS 38, IFRS2, IFRS 3, IFRS 16, etc.);
- Knowledge of Swiss banking regulations (FINMA requirements);
- Fluency in English (written and spoken), French is a plus;
- Strong attention to the details and quality oriented;
- Good analytical skills and curious;
- Team player and proactive;
- Self-driven with a -can do- attitude;
- Good understanding of the banking business, ability to get the big picture.
