Our client, a leading international company in the tobacco industry, is currently seeking a

Firmware / Electronics Scientist

Open-ended contract through Manpower
Location : Neuchâtel / HO
Position Purpose:
Drive PMI's innovation agenda by scouting, evaluating, and integrating emerging technologies, up to Proof of Feasibility/ Proof of Concept. Lead scientific research, deliver emerging technologies foresights that accelerate and support PMI's smoke-free transformation.

Key Accountabilities:

• Identify and assess innovative technologies and solutions, aligned with PMI's future technology priorities.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for new solutions.
• Manage open innovation challenges and collaborative projects.
• Lead research and foresight programs with external partners.
• Prepare technical briefs and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
• Promote adoption of open innovation frameworks and best practices across teams.

Core Competencies:

• Strong technical background.
• Analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Effective communication verbal and written.
• Ability to thrive in uncertainty and a fast-paced driven environment.

Education:

• Master's or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Computational Science, or related fields.

Experience:
Must have:

• 4-8 years in R\&D or technology related roles

Nice to have:

• Innovation management, or technology scouting roles
• Proven track record in delivering innovation projects, incl. with external collaborations
• Experience in regulated industries or consumer goods
