Description

For an international company in the global agribusiness market in 4333 Münchwilen (AG) we are looking for a Formulation Pilot Plant Operator - temp. assignment (100%), min. 1 year

Responsibilities

· Prepares, carries out and records formulation scale-up and development activities in the Formulation Pilot Plant (FPP) according to defined processing procedures

· Prepares and executes small-scale formulation manufacture for field trial sample generation, for GLP batch generation, or for process improvement studies

· Carries out first-line maintenance of pilot plant and laboratory equipment

· Contributes to the development and optimization of new products as well as laboratory and pilot manufacturing equipment, and to the development and optimization of formulation processing techniques

· Contributes as plant representative on small change projects in the FPP

· Complies with all HSE requirements during development and trial manufacturing operations and intervenes when encountering unsafe conditions and activities carried out by other personnel (internal and external)

· Ensures that internal and external maintenance personnel comply and follow with all HSE requirements in the FPP by instructing and supervising

· Contributes to process risk assessments (PRAs) in the FPP

· Generates subject matter for behavioral safety audits and actively contributes in the behavioral safety audit process

· Complies with all quality standards during development and trial manufacturing activities

· Responsible for manufacturing hygiene and cleanliness in the laboratory and process plant and in ensuring compliance with the residual impurity matrix

· Independently carries out development trials in the FPP, including preparation of raw materials, and configuration, operation and cleaning of processing equipment

· Collaborates with the F&PE Engineer, Pilot Plant Assistant and / or Pilot Plant Team Leader to devise the work programs for development trials

· Plans and carries out development activities to ensure most effective use of time and equipment

· Records data from experiments and scale-up / manufacturing trials

· Carries out first-line maintenance of pilot plant equipment and informs the Pilot Plant Team Leader of equipment defects or failures

· Seeks, proposes, and implements improvements to new products as well as formulation processing equipment and processing techniques

· Works flexibly across FPP and laboratory as project workload and priorities require

· Coaches others in formulation manufacture, both within the F&PE team and outside

· Supervises new hires or junior laboratory personnel working in the pilot plant

· Carry out additional regular duties as defined by the Pilot Plant Team Leader

Profile

· Vocational training or at least five years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or development environment

· Understanding of all HSE measures and requirements in lab and pilot plant

· Trained in first-line maintenance procedures for pilot and lab equipment

· Trained in clean-down procedures to achieve product quality targets

· Has a broad range of formulation preparation skills, from lab to pilot plant scale

· Knowledge of pilot plant and F&PE systems and procedures

· Has the appropriate range of computer skills (SmartDoc, Excel, Word, etc.) to carry out this role

· Ability to communicate activities, results, and learning clearly and concisely in both verbal and written form
