This role will lead a large operations team (>30 people/>400 vessels). Your goals are to always ensure properly aligned processes and procedures are followed by Operators world-wide.
We are searching for a candidate with strong interest and understanding of Dry Bulk environment who is a proven result-oriented leader. In this position, you will above all, provide support and development to others, communicate effectively, and demonstrate you can easily and effectively resolve problems.
More on the role: You will readily contribute and participate in the decision-making process for global freight operations. Your responsibilities within this scope will include a diverse range of tasks such as: track fleet overall performance using the technical manager in support, enhancements, process changes, report requirements and other. Daily, you will proactively handle vessel related issues, and still keep an incumbent accountable.
We are looking for a candidate who has a view (a vision), and can set and manage strategic initiatives. One of these initiatives includes having a “helicopter view” on what is good for Bunge and which direction you believe the company should go towards. One example you can think of within your future goals is sustainability – we are looking for you to play a key role in providing solutions and drive Bunge towards achieving its targets.
For this position you will be based in our trading center in Geneva, Switzerland and will report directly to the Commercial VP, Freight.
Other responsibilities include:
Manage and supervise, technical matters involving ship handling with assistance of Technical Managers;
Manage P&I, Marine insurance relationships/negotiate annual premiums with Legal;
Manage, with Technical Manager, all towage, agencies and all suppliers’ contracts of service;
Support Operations in the initiation and defense of vessel-related litigation with Legal & P&I Club;
Fully versed in with all up to date International Regulations concerning International Shipping.
Who are we looking for?
You have a minimum of 15+ years of experience in the Dry Bulk environment (operations and chartering);
You are able to structure, organize and put processes in place;
Previous experience in effectively managing a large international team;
Cross-border personnel and/or customer/client conflict resolution skills;
Fluent in English – additional language(s) useful.
