Our client is an international organization located in Geneva.

Job Description

The Interim Head of Accounting will oversee and manage the accounting function within the organisation. This role involves leading a team of 10 accounting professionals, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and regulations, as well as leading key projects:

Accounting

• Accounts receivable
• Accounts payable
• Payroll integration
• Travel cost & expenses integration
• Fixed assets
• Other subledgers

Consolidation/combination of group entities

Financial reporting incl. Annual Reports

Audit coordination

Tax

• Tax records
• Tax declarations, including collection of tax receivables
• Tax documentation, incl. intercompany documentation
• VAT, income taxes, cost taxes

Internal controls & compliance with applicable legal, fiscal & accounting norms

Team leadership & development

Systems and technology, evolution of ERP, linked systems and interfaces

FP&A support

The Successful Applicant

The successful Interim Head of Accounting will come with the following background and experience :

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience with a minimum of 5 years of team leadership experience
• Proficient knowledge of Swiss Code of Obligations and French accounting standards
• Consolidation experience
• Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance
• Professional fluency in English and French (both written and spoken) is essential
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
• Pragmatic, result-oriented mindset
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
• Proactive and adaptable in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
