Mission:
One of our clients based in the canton of Geneva is looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to manage and maintain their on-premises IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance of our critical systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in server administration, networking, storage, virtualization, and security within an enterprise environment, but also experience with Microsoft Azure.

This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers, networking, and backup solutions, a deep understanding of on-prem infrastructure architecture and experience with MS Azure.

Server & Infrastructure Administration
Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux-based servers.
Oversee virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
Implement and optimize storage systems for efficiency.
Ensure proper functioning of backup and disaster recovery tools (Veeam, Acronis).
Monitor server health, logs, and ensure security compliance.

Automation & Scripting
Develop scripts in PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate system management tasks.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automation using tools like Ansible or SCCM.
Enhance system configuration and software deployment through automation.

Backup, Recovery & System Availability
Design and implement systems for redundancy, failover, and continuity of operations.
Conduct regular backup processes, replication, and disaster recovery drills.
Ensure adherence to data security and recovery protocols.

User & Access Management
Manage Active Directory (AD), Group Policies (GPO), LDAP, and integrate Single Sign-On (SSO).
Administer permissions, authentication processes, and role-based access control (RBAC).
Provide ongoing support and guidance to internal IT staff.

Documentation & Compliance
Maintain detailed infrastructure documentation, including system configurations and network topology.
Ensure systems comply with industry standards (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
Participate in IT audits and risk assessments for infrastructure security

Profil
Education & Training: (subject + level)
Higher education completed, preferably with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience managing on-premises IT infrastructure
Work experience in an international environment is a plus

Preferred Certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

Technical Expertise:
Strong experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL)
Strong experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms
Strong expertise in enterprise storage
Strong experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Acronis, etc.).
Proficiency in network administration
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP.
Experience with enterprise security solutions (firewalls, VPN, endpoint protection, SIEMs).
Ability to write scripts in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation.
Familiarity with monitoring tools like Zabbix, Nagios, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID
Experience with Microsoft Azure
Experience with migrations from on-prem to MS Azure
Experience with ITIL frameworks and service management processes
Experience with database administration (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) > nice to have
Hands-on experience with endpoint management tools like SCCM or Intune> nice to have

Languages:
English fluent (oral and written).
French or German would be a plus.

The position is based in Geneva with travel to other sites expected (Bienne, etc.)
