Junior Market Analyst As an active member of the Market and Trading Information Desk, the Junior Market Analyst’s responsibility is to support Traders in their decision making process. To do so, the analysis of market prices, general and specific oil-market fundamentals data (supply, consumption, flow) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis is required. Junior Market Analyst Junior Market Analyst As an active member of the Market and Trading Information Desk, the Junior Market Analyst’s responsibility is to support Traders in their decision making process. To do so, the analysis of market prices, general and specific oil-market fundamentals data (supply, consumption, flow) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis is required. Job purpose: - Support the trading desks by providing them with relevant oil market data in a timely insightful fashion. - Manage and organize detailed price and fundamental data, extract relevant data and communicate the important implications of the data to traders and other analysts. - Develop, build and maintain detailed historical supply and demand balances. Create meaningful forward balances including scenarios. - Form and communicate comprehensive insightful views on the relationships between various oil market prices and fundamentals. - Contribute to suggested desk traded positions. - Support development, input and delivery of inhouse databases, fundamentals and pricing reports, and trader fundamentals dashboards. - Prepare ad-hoc fundamental oil market analysis. - Develop and maintain good communication with colleagues in related departments such as Trading, Risk Management, and other financial desks. If you have: - Economic background with MSc or equivalent either in Finance/Economics or in numerical discipline (mathematics, physics, engineer). - Basic petroleum knowledge is required - Knowledge of commodities as well as pricing theories and methods is appreciated. - Good knowledge of financial instruments used in capital markets andadvanced statistical knowledge (econometrics and data analysis) are necessary. - Excellent IT skills including standard applications such as Excel (VBA programming), data processing (Python) and Business Intelligence (Tableau). - Analytical thinking: approach problem solving systematically, anticipation of obstacles, make logical conclusions and see implications/consequences of solutions. - Customer service orientation: discover and meet underlying needs of traders, managers and other analysts. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - English language fluent.
