CENTRE FOR THE NEW ECONOMY AND SOCIETY

Reporting lines and interactions
This role will report directly to the Head of Strategy and Implementation and work closely with other staff throughout the Centre and the organization. The Centre's Strategy and Implementation team is dedicated to developing and delivering its strategy and objectives and serving as key operational support to the Centre's head.
Main responsibilities
• 50% on the development and delivery of the Centre's internal and external programming, including annual meetings, regional summits, Centre meetings and internal workshops. This responsibility will entail both session design and delivery, as well as speaker identification and briefings.
• 40% on the development and delivery of the Centre's communications through internal and external mechanisms. This responsibility will focus on strengthening the Centre's visibility across various communication channels, including public engagement through social media, press releases for traditional media, marketing material for the Centre and digital engagement of constituents.
• 10% on the support to the Heads of Strategy and Implementation and the Head of the Centre with Centre-wide planning and coordination.
The division of responsibilities may be flexible and dependent on the candidate's capabilities, as well as their potential and aspirations.
The successful candidate will be assessed on
• Formulating and implementing a work plan to strengthen the Centre's communication and programming practices
• Project managing the Centre communication and programming needs, including functioning as the Centre's focal point within the Centre team and the broader Forum.
• Strong coordination with internal teams, especially Community Engagement teams on marketing material and project teams on programming and public communications to ensure content is relevant and accurately portrayed.
• Ability to meet deadlines and align activities around key milestones
• Quality of written output and design aesthetic
• Proficiency in the use of internal and external digital platforms and tools for programme design, constituent engagement and public engagement
• Developing a strong understanding of the Forum's mission and regularly monitoring relevant global developments in the areas pertinent to the Centre's remit as well as the intersections between them
Preferred requirements and experience
• Advanced university degree in economics, public policy, business, marketing, communications or relevant field
• 5-7 years of professional experience, ideally within multiple sectors and diverse geographies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; research and synthesis; critical thinking; coordination and collaboration; capacity to manage self and navigate ambiguity
• Ability to prioritize effectively under pressure and multitask in a time-efficient manner
• Proven interest in the areas covered by the Centre, particularly economic growth and competitiveness, education and work, equality and inclusion, and a high degree of comfort with interdisciplinary approaches
• Outstanding command of written and spoken English; knowledge of other languages would be an asset
