Description

For an international company in the global agribusiness market in 4332 Stein (AG) we are looking for a Molecular Biologist - temp. assignment (100%), min. 1 year

Responsibilities

· Actively participate in developing and using molecular capabilities for (i) tracking molecular markers in-planta (ii) product QC and tracking of microbes in planta.

· Carry out or develop various bioassays

· Carry out or develop various molecular/microbiology-based assays

· Collect and process samples dedicated to molecular analyses done by CROs

· Trial execution with microbial-based products and plants treated with biostimulants

· Actively supports scientific experts, projects, testing and analysis.

· Plan and execute scientific experiments or equivalent tasks

· Actively support sample processing and logistics

· Document experiments and test results. Interprets data for discussion with Scientific Expert and proposes follow ups or improvements

· Work on data analysis, presentation and reporting

· Communicate results, outcomes in oral and written form (reports or presentations in English). Offers and actively collects relevant information to/from colleagues and supervisors.

· Writing of experiment protocols with fully descriptive documentation to assure reproducibility of tests/experiments.

· Records, communicates test abnormalities and errors and enables improvement

· Provides technical advice to other lab staff

Profile

· to work in a dynamic environment and within a young multicultural research team.

· Motivated to learn, apply, and improve modern Agro-Biological R&D technologies

· Strong academic background in molecular biology (some background in plant biology and/or microbiology would be appreciated) to efficiently plan and carry out laboratory work & problem solving

· Expertise working with plants

· Willingness to perform routine tasks

· Use scientific excellence and creativity to develop and/or implement state-of-the-art methods to meet project needs

· Apply and improve problem-solving skills in biology experimentation

· Competent in literature & data mining searches

· Provides exact documentation of reproducible experimental procedure

· Has awareness of chemical hazards/HSE in the lab and applies safety considerations to all activities

· Team player and positive working attitude

· Good communication skills in English

· Flexibility and adaptability to the changing environment to achieve excellence in delivery

· Team player and positive working attitude

· Minimum Master degree in molecular biology (expertise with plant biology and/or microbiology appreciated)
