Navigation and Automation Engineer (80-100%)

Location: Wangen b. Düb. &/or Geneva
When: 01 January 2026 or upon availability

Your mission:

As Navigation Engineer within the CNS division, you will be responsible for the lifecycle management, continuous improvement, and infrastructure renewal of Navigation systems across Switzerland. You will apply your engineering expertise and change management skills to ensure the reliability and evolution of critical equipment. Additionally, you will serve as the national product manager for the Navigation Aids SCADA tool, overseeing its strategic development and operational performance.

Your responsibilities:
  • Technical lead in projects in alignment with applicable regulations and standards, ensuring compliance across operational, safety, security, and quality dimensions throughout the entire product lifecycle or project duration
  • Ensure reliability and availability targets which are set for the product/equipment and associated services in close relation with the technical team
  • Plan medium- and long-term product/equipment evolutions and manage associated budgets triggered by obsolescence and/or technology upgrades
  • Evaluate, conduct and implement change requests, following applicable processes by establishing and respecting scope, time and budget constraints
  • Support maintenance teams and contribute to stability improvement

What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Demonstrated expertise with SCADA (WinCC OA) and/or automation components (Siemens S7 PLC)
  • Proven track record of secure communication protocols and/or IT systems
  • Experience in projects with commissioning and deployment of Radiofrequency systems ( Direction Finder) would be an asset
  • Teamwork: You engage in interactions with diverse team members and actively contribute information, ideas, and insights in meetings or other interactions
  • Problem solving: You seek accurate information to analyze problems, break down complex issues into manageable parts, and approach solutions in a systematic and structured way
  • Proficient in German or French written and orally, good command in English
