Job Description
- Lead all planning functions for the project to ensure timely execution.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including detailed design teams, procurement partners, construction subcontractors, turnaround, and commissioning teams.
- Secure and consolidate project schedule inputs and communicate planning requirements to relevant project resources.
- Provide early warnings and insights to the Project Manager regarding risks, opportunities, and schedule deviations.
- Challenge stakeholders on high-risk or critical path items to maintain realistic and timely deliverables.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major equipment suppliers and construction subcontractors to optimize planning and scheduling performance.
- Manage planning-related claims on behalf of the project.
- Oversee the issuance and consolidation of supplier/subcontractor schedule feedback and ensure updates to internal databases.
- Report planning progress to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and structured communication.
- Establish interfaces and foster alignment with key project stakeholders.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethics and professional conduct in all planning activities.
- Monitor, report, and present project performance indicators and scheduling metrics to leadership and the client.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in planning management within the energy, oil & gas, renewable, or similar industries.
- Strong procurement exposure on major projects (USD 20M).
- Proficient in MS Project and Primavera P6.
- Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in international contracting and negotiation.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with project controls; cost control experience is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, reliability, and professional ethics.
- Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Assertive yet collaborative, with strong interpersonal and intercultural competencies.
- Capable of working independently while providing clear reporting to management.
- A team player with flexibility and resilience in a changing environment.
