Product Owner - Tender

We are searching for an experienced Product Owner - Tender at our MSC Geneva - Geneva facility. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Product Owner both challenges the status quo and set the vision her/his product should aim at. She/he is the link between Business stake holders and development team. She/he defines the business needs and prioritizes the product backlog while the team is responsible for delivering.

She/he is maintaining the overview on the big picture and on the interdependences with the other products. Ultimately, she/he is responsible for maximizing the value of both the product and the work of the development team.

In the context of Tender Management within the shipping industry, the Product Owner is in charge to interact with the software provider selected through an RFP process, establishing the implementation of this software within the organization as well as within the IT ecosystems, including but not limited to, defining the integrations cross products, from the production of proposal rates and conditions within the tender from the Quotation product, and for a tender winning lanes becoming an effective contract within the Pricing product. Along with the Product Team, she/he is interacting with business stakeholders for adjusting the roadmap, prioritizing the features to be implemented, and undertaking with business key users UAT activities.

She/he interacts with the CRM Sales program manager for aligning roadmap and priorities along with the one who governs at the program level.

Some of key responsibilities (not limited to):

• Interacting with stakeholders in order to refine constantly the vision, set new objectives, challenge the status quo and amend existing processes.
• Identify, negotiate, define, analyze, prioritize, refine the requirements and communicate those milestones and the vision to developers and business specialists.
• Working directly with our various stakeholders, including management and department managers, as well as with focused development teams to ensure successful translation of those requirements into high-quality and timely product deliverables.
• Contributing to the Scrum ceremonies: Product Backlog grooming, Sprint Planning Sprint Review etc.
• Acting as a Business Subject Matter Expert to the functional IT team while guiding through Business Value identification, user story prioritization, establishing acceptance criteria, and identifying gaps between product backlog and product delivered.
• Formally accepting the user stories once all acceptance criteria are met and demonstrated.
• Demonstrating, promoting and leading release of the Product-s version in the business stakeholder-s environment.
• Liaising with the other product owners and related projects to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated and dependencies are managed.
• Functional management of a remote team, 3 to 6 persons

About you:

• 10+ years working experience in the shipping industry, or in Tender management in services domains.
• 5+ years working experience in IT Development.
• Experience systematically analyzing problems, drawing relevant conclusions, and devising appropriate courses of action.
• Experience in working with Agile / Scrum work environment as a Product Owner: writing user stories, and following the development process through user story acceptance.
• Experience driving teams and management to decisions and obtaining difficult information and answers
• Experience working with cross functional and multicultural teams, nearshore/offshore.
• English and French C2 minimum.
