Description
- A minimum of 10 years of continuous abstinence from all psychoactive substances
- Excellent written and spoken English (C2 professional proficiency); other languages are an advantage
- Active and ongoing participation in personal recovery work or mutual aid groups, such as Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous, etc.
- A clear understanding of your recovery process and the ability to express it in a differentiated manner
- Good IT skills and the ability to write reports and clinical notes
- A high degree of professional & personal competence as an "expert from experience"
- The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with medical leadership
- A relevant form of training or work experience
- The ability to work with a culturally diverse clientele
- A current driver’s license and willingness to drive
- Ability to commute or relocate close to Lucerne, Switzerland
- Ability to work in shifts (combination of day, overnight, weekends, holidays)
- Must be eligible for a work permit in Switzerland (CH/EU-/EFTA nationals). An EU passport is ideal for obtaining a work permit if you are applying outside Switzerland.
As a vital member of our clinical team, the Recovery Counsellor plays a central role in supporting clients throughout their treatment journey with empathy, structure, and discretion. This role combines direct client support with organisational and clinical responsibilities to ensure a seamless recovery experience.
Your responsibilities include:
- Providing day-to-day motivational and emotional support to clients
- Using personal recovery experience (where applicable) to offer guidance and inspiration
- Supporting clients during breaks, leisure activities, and off-site excursions
- Planning and organising clients’ attendance at 12-step meetings
- Accompanying and transporting clients to meetings in Zurich, Lucerne, or surrounding areas
- Participating in clinical meetings and contributing to treatment planning
- Co-moderating and supporting group therapy sessions
- Accurately documenting treatment-related activities in the clinical software system
- Coordinating and supervising weekend, overnight, and on-call duties
- Managing client arrivals and departures, including pickups and drop-offs at airports
