FIND is an international non-profit organization based in Geneva, Switzerland. The organization is dedicated to activities that result in: 1) new diagnostic tools; 2) expanded access to these tools; and 3) strengthened diagnostic testing capacity for poverty-related diseases in low- and middle-income countries.

 

Overall objective:

FIND seeks a Resource Mobilization Officer is to support our efforts to increase funding by forging relationships with new potential donors and partners and through maintaining existing relationships with long-term donors.

Resource Mobilization Officer

Position’s Main Tasks:

Reporting to the Senior Advocacy and Resource Mobilization Officer, the RM Officer will support preparation of funding proposals, coordinate prospecting activities and manage relationships with existing and new donors.

  • Support preparation, writing and submissions of grant proposals (40%)

    • Ensure donor requirements are met, ensure submission requirements are understood

    • Provide input to strengthen case for support

  • Provide support to grant management and reporting (20%)

    • Monitor milestones on specific grants

    • Support report preparations (timelines, formats, compliance with requirements prior to submission)

    • Support Finance in financial reporting preparation

  • Identify and monitor new funding opportunities (20%)

    • Monitor and keep informed about potential funding opportunities within the health research, development and philanthropic sectors

    • Conduct research to document key relevant information on potential donors

    • Prepare and maintain profiles on potential funders to inform positioning of proposals

  • Support fundraising advocacy activities (20%)

    • Write and develop inspiring materials (documents, presentations, proposals) to convince public and private donors

        

Qualifications& Professional background:

  • Minimal educational requirements: Scientific degree with strong writing skills preferred or Master’s degree in public/global health.  Equivalent work experience could be considered.

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in proposal/report writing and administration of grants

  • Excellent oral, writing and editing skills in English

  • Ability & experience in asking donors for financial support and articulating the case for support

  • Ability to work under multiple tight deadlines

  • Ability to understand and review scientific and financial data /reports

  • High level of proficiency with MS Office package, experience with databases a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-cultural environment

  • Knowledge about diagnostics and/or neglected diseases would be considered an advantage.
