Your responsibilities

  • Responsibility for advancing our mobile apps (Digitec & Galaxus) comes with room for creative ideas to enhance the consistency of the mobile shopping experience
  • Hands-on involvement in the conception, implementation, testing, and release of smart native features is a key part of the role
  • Taking ownership of the entire app cycle includes continuously improving quality by addressing issues and planning and executing refactoring efforts
  • Opportunity to cross-collaborate on our iOS, Web Frontend , and Backend platforms as interests and skills develop
  • Within the team, the agile process is shaped collectively, focusing on small tasks with short iterations to maximize customer value
  • Supporting less experienced engineers in their daily work and actively sharing knowledge strengthens the team as a whole
  • Open, transparent, and clear communication is essential. Providing and receiving constructive feedback is encouraged

Your skills

  • Higher education degree in computer science (ETH/UNI/FH) or equivalent relevant professional experience is required
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in Android development with demonstrable Kotlin expertise is essential
  • Passion for Android app development, along with expertise in Kotlin, Compose, Coroutines, MVVM, Hilt and Gradle is highly valued
  • Openness to working on an app that incorporates WebViews is important
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn other technologies such as Swift (iOS), React (Web Frontend) and .NET (Backend) as part of cross-platform collaboration
  • Familiarity with testing Android apps, including unit tests and UI tests, is expected
  • Strong understanding of agile software development principles is beneficial
  • Demonstrating the courage to take risks and act on convictions under uncertainty
  • A willingness to challenge «how things have always been done» and propose more efficient, automated or effective solutions
  • Either fluent German with English proficiency OR fluent English along with either existing German skills or a strong motivation to learn the language on the job with support from our education programs
