Job Description
You will join the contracting team and report directly to the Legal Director of Contracts.
As a Senior Legal Counsel, your responsibilities will include:

Drafting, editing, and negotiating various commercial contracts, encompassing services agreements, sales agreements, slot chartering or vessel sharing agreements, logistics agreements (depot, warehousing, stuffing, etc.), and transportation agreements.

Engaging directly with key external stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to stay abreast of relevant information and provide effective solutions.

Advising internal clients on potential legal issues or financial implications associated with the contracts they are reviewing.

Remaining vigilant of changes in the external environment, continually developing professional knowledge and skills, and leveraging these assets to enhance the company's value proposition.

Collaborating and liaising with business units and other divisions of the Corporate Legal Department, such as Compliance, Antitrust, Litigation, and M&A.

Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices through participation in conferences, educational opportunities, professional publications, personal networks, and involvement in professional organizations.
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum qualification of a Master's degree in law or equivalent. Familiarity with common law is essential.
- 5-8 years of experience in a large international organization or law firm.
- Experience in the shipping or transportation/logistics industry, a strong advantage.
- Adaptive and proactive approach to work, with a resourceful mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team while also being capable of working autonomously.
- Strong communication and persuasion skills, capable of engaging with individuals at all levels and addressing large audiences.
- Excellent command of English (native or equivalent proficiency); proficiency in other languages is advantageous.
