International organisation based in Geneva.
Job Description
This role involves providing legal support for new projects and initiatives, managing legal risks, overseeing compliance training, implementing legal technologies, staying informed about legal changes, and managing confidential information.More specifically, you will:
- Offer legal assistance and guidance for emerging projects and initiatives by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and grants to ensure they align with organizational goals and legal requirements.
- Identify and address legal risks related to the operations, providing advice on potential issues and solutions while ensuring compliance with international sanctions and anti-corruption laws. Support transactional due diligence across the Network.
- Lead the ongoing development of legal compliance training, collaborating closely with the Head of Legal and global trainers to assess overall training needs, customize materials, and coordinate meetings with administrative support.
- Drive the implementation and supervision of new legal technologies and processes to enhance efficiency and compliance. Work closely with the legal team, third-party technology providers, and IT to integrate legal compliance solutions.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations, particularly in international contexts, that may impact operations.
- Manage confidential information with discretion and in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified Lawyer or Senior Legal Counsel with 5-10 years of experience, ideally in an international setting. Swiss qualification is preferred but not required. Familiarity with Swiss jurisdiction is mandatory.
- Proficient in contract law, international sanctions, anti-corruption protocols, and compliance standards.
- Experienced in legal risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in implementing legal technologies and processes to enhance efficiency.
- Possesses excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English is mandatory, with proficiency in other relevant languages being advantageous.
