Reports To: Trade Operations Manager
We are seeking a Senior Operations Executive to join our distillates trading operations team in Geneva. The role is responsible for the planning, execution, and control of distillates operations to meet agreed quality, volume, schedule, and cost objectives across global trade flows, with a focus on European and Mediterranean markets.
The position ensures disciplined coordination among terminals, vessels, agents, surveyors, laboratories, and internal stakeholders, maintaining full operational traceability and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee end-to-end execution of distillates trades, including loading, shipment, discharge, and delivery operations.
Manage coordination with terminals, agents, inspectors, surveyors, and shipowners to ensure efficient and timely cargo handling.
Monitor trade flows and proactively identify operational or logistical risks, implementing corrective measures when required.
Work closely with trading, chartering, finance, and risk teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment with commercial strategies.
Supervise product movements between terminals, refineries, and vessels, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and specifications.
Review and validate shipping documentation (BLs, certificates of quality/origin, cargo manifests, etc.) for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate sampling, testing, and cargo release with surveyors and laboratories; assess results and manage quality claims when applicable.
Oversee inventory reconciliation and movement tracking, ensuring accurate and auditable records for all operations.
Report and analyze daily operational KPIs, such as on-time performance, cost per ton, and demurrage exposure.
Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Oil and Products trading operations, primarily Distillates (Gasoline, Gasoil, Jet, Diesel, etc.).
Experience in trading and shipping operations, including terminal management, product handling, storage planning, and blending oversight.
Sound knowledge of Incoterms, shipping documentation, trade finance, and demurrage handling.
Proven ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced trading environment.
Hands-on experience with CTRM systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities; able to collaborate effectively across commercial and support functions.
Strong understanding of European and Mediterranean distillates markets and logistics, including familiarity with EU regulatory frameworks and VAT principles
Experience coordinating truck and RTC (Rail Tank Car) movements, including scheduling, loading operations, and compliance with relevant regulations a plus
