Description
The Supply Network Planner is responsible for designing, optimizing, and future-proofing the company’s supply chain network, with a focus on manufacturing and logistics. The role predominantly focuses on Long term horizon with strong link to mid-term planning and scenario management to ensure resilience, cost-efficiency, and agility in the supply chain. By leveraging data analytics, forecasting models, and simulation tools, the Supply Network Planner drives strategic decision-making to align the network footprint with evolving business needs, market trends, and sustainability goals.
Supply Chain Network Design & Optimization
- Develop and refine end-to-end supply chain network strategies to support mid/long-term business growth and operational efficiency.
- Optimize the manufacturing footprint, warehouse locations, and distribution centers for cost-effective and agile supply chain operations.
- Utilize data analytics and modeling tools to simulate network scenarios and recommend improvements.
- Assess production, and distribution locations to ensure network resilience, risk mitigation and sustainability goals.
Scenario Management & Mid-Term Planning
- Supports to define and execute scenario planning to assess the impact of market fluctuations, demand shifts, geopolitical risks, and supplier disruptions.
- Supports in development of "what-if" simulations to evaluate potential changes in sourcing, capacity, and transportation models.
- Align mid-term planning with financial forecasting, inventory strategies, and capital investment decisions.
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure scenario recommendations support cost and service objectives.
Capacity Planning & Forecasting
- Analyze production capacities, and logistics constraints to plan future network needs.
- Forecast manufacturing and distribution capacity requirements to prevent bottlenecks and ensure supply chain agility.
- Work closely with sales and operations teams to align supply chain strategies with business goals.
- Leads and deliver network impact assessments and develop Value Chain Management recommendations for new production capabilities, technical transfers, and network changes.
Logistics & Transportation Strategy
- Design an efficient logistics network in collaboration with logistics to endhance transport efficiency to reduce cost and CO2 footprint.
Cost & Efficiency Management
- Identify opportunities to reduce supply chain costs through optimized sourcing, production, and distribution.
- Balance cost reduction initiatives with maintaining high service levels and supply chain resilience.
- Drive initiatives for inventory optimization to reduce working capital while maintaining availability.
Technology & Process Improvement
- Leverage digital tools, AI, and automation to improve supply chain visibility and decision-making.
- Implement network design software, route optimization tools, and advanced analytics for planning.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in supply chain management.
- Develops NW Strategy Assessment digital tools & processes, including a sustainable governance process.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with procurement, operations, finance, and logistics teams to ensure alignment of network strategies.
- Support sustainability initiatives by optimizing supply chain operations for lower carbon emissions and waste reduction.
- Develop and present network optimization plans to senior leadership.
- Provides leadership to colleagues through consultation and mentoring in techniques and processes related to Network assessments and changes.
