Synthetic Research Chemist

For an international company in the global agribusiness market in 4332 Stein (AG) we are looking for a Synthetic Research Chemist (f/m/d) - temporary assignment (100%), min. 1 year

Responsibilities

• Proficient synthesis of new target compounds as potential crop protection chemicals

• Independently plan and carry out practical chemistry efficiently, using a wide range of synthetic and purification skills

• Independently carry out the purification of target compounds using the most appropriate standard techniques

• Independently characterise the nature and purity of synthesised products

• Perform, document and review risk assessment according to Syngenta standards

• Maintain high personal standards of productivity

• Report regularly on research activities in oral and written form

Profile

• Minimum 4 year experience in a chemistry Lab (vocational trained “Laborant”)

• Master is desirable but not essential (no PhD degree)

• Capable to perform multistep synthesis, to develop synthetic methodologies and to optimise reaction conditions.

• Apply knowledge to solve technical problems

• Eager to continuously learn and advance own and others knowledge

• Quickly learn and apply new methodologies

• Good planning and ability to work under time pressure

• Team player

• Skilfully plans, organizes and monitors performance to create value and achieve excellence in delivery.
