About Our Client
Our client is an international organization located in Versoix.
Job Description
The Temporary Grants Finance Officer will be responsible for supporting the organization grants financial management. The position will work towards achieving the following:
- Provide services to a portfolio of grant making programmes
- Develop and ensure the efficient implementation of systems to support the financial and administration management of grant making programmes to enable effective assessment of financial performance, compliance, risk assessment and risk mitigation
- Develop and maintain internal systems to support financial and administration procedures as grants transition from development, implementation and closure
- Ensure that regular tasks are performed to meet internal procedures, such as time tracking, consistent cost recovery and financial and contractual obligations, etc.
- Ensure the maintenance of up-to-date financial and administrative data in appropriate systems including grants budgets, internal agreements, implementing partner agreements, etc.
- Ensure that all donor contractual requirements in respect to finance and reporting are respected through sound monitoring and oversight, and in liaison with donors, implementing partners, grants recipients, regional offices on financial and administration aspects
- Ensure and safeguard timely and efficient donor financial reporting, project audits, etc.
- Track and follow up on reporting deadlines/submissions with project managers
- Supervise and ensure timely and efficient contract clearance processes (implementing partners, consultancy, internal agreements, grant recipients, etc)
- Support the grant management process through contributing to the design of application processes and operational manuals
- Undertake financial due diligence and risk assessment of grantees prior to the award of grants
- Review and assess the budgets of grant applicants in collaboration with programme technical staff
- Provide input into standard grant agreements in collaboration with the Office of the legal adviser
- Review and accept financial reports in collaboration with programme technical staff
The Successful Applicant
The Temporary Grants Finance Officer we are looking for will bring the following background and experience :
- A University degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, and a recognized accounting professional qualification, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of relevant professional finance experience in an international environment, including in grants financial management
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of financial systems preferably and ease with use of analytical tools
- Excellent analytical, presentation, and writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal proficiency with the ability to support staff at various levels to perform financial tasks
- Aptitude to work with minimal supervision within diverse multicultural teams
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to various work tasks
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English, any other language would be an advantage
