The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee (NPTC Coffee) is the leading R&D organization that discovers, develops and deploys coffee and beverage products and technologies for in-home and out-of-home consumption. It consists of units in Konolfingen (CH), Marysville (USA), Orbe (CH) and Singapore and provides new products and processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide.

Position Summary

As an “Associate R&D Specialist”, you will join the Coffee Black Cup Technology Team to develop technologies of the Future for iconic coffee brands, and contribute to delight our consumers all around the world. Surrounded and supported by Technology Experts and Specialists, you will collaborate on a day-to-day basis with multidisciplinary teams from both R&D and operations to lead these initiatives to success. You will evolve in a highly skilled team in a dynamic, creative, inclusive, and international working environment with many opportunities for development.

A Day in the Life of an Associate R&D Specialist

Contribute to new initiatives on coffee process technologies discovery, from raising scientific hypothesis to testing and implementing.
Lead pilot plant trials on Pure Soluble Coffee products.
Explore and propose new coffee process technologies applications, up to Proof of Concept.

What will make you successful

Master’s degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Material Science or relevant technical field
Previous experience in coffee processing technologies and coffee development in R&D and operations is a plus
Hands-on approach
Creative, curious and proactive
Good communication skills
Ability to adapt in an innovative and changing environment
Organised and analytical approach
Fluent in English, Fluency in French is a plus
