Compliance Officer - KYC Onboarding & Recertification

The open permanent position is for a qualified compliance officer to work within the Compliance Team - KYC team, based in Zurich or Geneva and with a focus on  Wealth Management clients.

YOUR TEAM

The Compliance Officer will report to one of the KYC team leaders in Zurich or Geneva (depending on the location of the hired candidate)

YOUR WORK DAY

• Conduct critical assessment of the Know your Customer (KYC)/Due Diligence documentation prepared by the 1st line of defence (1LOD) for files subject to Compliance intervention (PEPs, Complex Structures, High Risk Files, etc.). This includes, among others, the analysis and corroboration of KYC information provided by the business; performance of checks via external resources as required by applicable laws and regulations as well as internal guidelines and transactional analysis.
• For cases requiring Compliance review: Intervene at all stages of client lifecycle - onboarding, recertification, ad-hoc investigations and event triggered updates. Escalate serious cases of non-compliance in a timely manner.
• Perform quality reviews and approve compliance analysis conducted by other team members or compliance officers from other Group entities when involving a Swiss booking.
• Contribute in training initiatives and provide guidance to 1LOD staff about compliance matters 
• Participate in compliance projects launched by the group and locally, and to the different reportings to be provided.
• Advise and interface to Front Office, Coverage Teams, Due Diligence Teams and other related functions, and cooperation with other compliance functions in Switzerland as well as in other BNPP Sites

YOUR PROFILE AND SKILLS

• Bachelor/Master degree in law/business administration, postgraduate studies in Compliance Management or equivalent
• Good general understanding of the bank-s products/services and activities and of the Wealth Management activities in particular (knowledge of Middle East Market is a plus)
• Good knowledge of the Swiss regulatory landscape
• 5+ years of experience in international banking and finance (with significant experience in KYC - Wealth Management)
• Very strong writing and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Tactful communicator, good interpersonal team skills and ability to work effectively under pressure
• Problem-solving mindset with risk cautiousness and business awareness 
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office
• English (Fluent) - German and/or French preferred. Other languages are a plus.
