Main purpose
The Head of Technical Support leads a senior technical team responsible for end-to-end technical due diligence across global investment and commercial opportunities, as well as the Group’s operating assets and project portfolio across all commodities.
The role provides independent technical expertise to support investment decisions, structured trade finance activities, and long-term offtake agreements, while strengthening technical assurance and performance oversight across the portfolio.
The position coordinates a multidisciplinary team of internal specialists and external advisors to deliver high-quality technical reviews and recommendations, bridging technical evaluation with commercial decision-making and value creation.

Key responsibilities
Lead technical due diligence on mining, processing, smelting, and logistics assets linked to trading, investment, and financing opportunities.
Assess resources, reserves, production capacity, operating reliability, and cost structures, translating findings into commercial implications.
Evaluate project economics, competitiveness, and market positioning to support investment decisions.
Support portfolio assets through operational reviews, turnaround assessments, and identification of value-creation levers.
Partner with deal teams on transaction structuring, valuation scenarios, investment committee materials, and shareholder negotiations.
Manage external consultants and technical advisors to deliver independent, best-in-class reviews.
Benchmark portfolio assets against industry peers and support the development of Value Creation Plans (VCPs).
Provide integrated technical and business input into budgeting, mine planning, and operational improvement programs.
Establish portfolio-wide project monitoring and reporting to track delivery, schedule, cost, quality, and contract compliance.
Provide management with timely updates on progress and deviations, recommend corrective actions, and ensure project documentation is complete and accurate.
Liaise with HSE, ESG, and compliance teams to ensure asset practices meet regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
Undertake frequent international travel to asset sites to perform first-hand technical reviews, assurance visits, and performance deep-dives.

Required qualifications
Bachelors’ degree or advanced diploma in mineral resource related Engineering (Mining / Mechanical / Metallurgical / Chemical) or Geoscience from a recognized institution / university.
A postgraduate business degree.
Minimum 20 years’ experience in progressively senior roles across mine operations management, project design and execution, and technical due diligence supporting commercial offtake contracts and M&A (acquisitions/divestments).
Language skills (Fluent English - essential; French, Spanish, Portuguese - desirable)
