Description
Celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2026, Neuchâtel Junior College (Neuchâtel) offers a transformative academic and cultural experience unlike any other, blending the Ontario Grade 12 curriculum with immersive, real-world learning in the heart of Switzerland. Neuchâtel provides an intimate and highly personalized learning environment where each student is known, supported, and challenged.
Students spend their final year of high school or a gap year earning Ontario Secondary School Diploma credits while living with French-speaking host families, gaining fluency in French, and enjoying exposure to European life
Anchored in academic excellence, global citizenship, and leadership development, Neuchâtel Junior College prepares students not just for university but for life. Small class sizes, extensive travel throughout Europe, and a focus on experiential learning to foster independence, intellectual curiosity, and a lasting sense of purpose are the underpinnings of the Neuchâtel experience. The result is a life-changing year that equips students with the skills, confidence, and perspective to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
With the current Head departing after two successful terms, Neuchâtel is seeking its next Head of School to take this exceptional school to the next level of excellence. Based in Neuchâtel, the Head will oversee all aspects of school academics and operations. The Head ensures cohesion between recruitment and admissions, the academic program, student life, and advancement and alumni relations.
The Head will bring leadership, operational skills, and an innovation mindset to continue to advance the academic program and forge new partnerships, ensuring a world-class educational experience for all students.
Adventurous in spirit and caring in nature, the Head’s commitment to student life will ensure Neuchâtel continues to be a life changing experience for students. Possessing good judgement and being highly relational will be important to maintain the joyful environment that is Neuchâtel. Candidates must be fluent in English and able to converse comfortably in French (or be willing to gain facility in French).
The Search Committee’s consideration of candidates is expected to commence in late August, with the new Head assuming office in the summer of 2026.
Neuchâtel Junior College is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture where every student, staff member, and family feels valued and respected. The school encourages candidates who bring diverse perspectives and experiences to apply for the role.
