Description
How you can make a difference:
As a Medical Research Engineer, you will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary research and development team tackling the challenges of tomorrow's mechanical ventilation systems.
After gaining a solid understanding of ventilation principles and our development tools, you will focus on creating and testing innovative, data-driven signal processing algorithms to identify critical patient-ventilator interactions. Working with our engineers and clinical experts, you will support application prototyping through to clinical validation, while maintaining a product-oriented focus.
That's what you bring along:
To solve these tasks optimally, we are looking for candidates who have:
- a Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or scientific field (software engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, or related disciplines) or equivalent experience outside academia
- Strong programming skills in Python and Matlab. Demonstrated experience with a variety of technologies and frameworks is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience with software development and prototyping, including version control systems
- Experience with data and signal processing
- Analytical, independent, and meticulous work style
- Flexible, creative, and pragmatic mindset with an openness to interdisciplinary collaboration
- Fluency in English
It is also advantageous to have:
- Experience with web development frameworks (such as Django or Flask)
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation and the most common container technologies (e.g. Docker)
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, especially for app scaling and refactoring (e.g. Azure, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of database systems and associated query languages (e.g. SQL)
- Experience with data science and machine learning
