Description
In this role, you will :
lead patent risk clearance activities in relation to JTI and JT technologies and product developments, in line with internal Freedom to Operate (FTO) Guidelines and business requirements,
identify and report on patent risk assessments to internal stakeholders,
suggest and support, where appropriate, patent risk mitigation activities that support our business objectives under the supervision of the Patent Business and Strategy Director
Domaine de responsabilités :
Receive, allocate, and manage patent risk assessment requests in all technological fields in RRPs and conventional products in line with IP Governance principles and FTO
Align IP Risk assessment conclusions with the Patent Business and Strategy Director and communicate these as appropriate internally and externally to business stakeholders
Advise and support in IP risk mitigation activities with the Patent Oppositions Director, Patent Business and Strategy Director, and other IP members as appropriate
Lead financial budgeting & reporting for patent clearance activities
Develop IP team members and deliver a pipeline of diverse IP talent and strong successor candidates
Recruit, motivate, and guide the professional development of the team
Expérience professionnelle :
10+ years in Intellectual Property, preferably including in-house experience,
Experience in a multinational business environment
Diplômes et formations :
A University or engineering degree and experience in any of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or Mechanical and material sciences,
Patent Attorney qualification (e.g., European Patent Attorney, Japanese Patent Attorney, US patent attorney),
Knowledge of the tobacco field is a plus
Compétences linguistiques et informatiques – lesquelles & niveau :
Fluent in English,
A UPC qualification is a plus
Compétences comportementales :
Excellent communication skills in oral and written form. Capacity to communicate simply with a non-technical audience about complex IP matters to help decision-making
