Who are we?
The UK Mission to the United Nations (UN) & World Trade Organization (WTO) represents the interests and policies of the UK at international organisations in Geneva and is now recruiting for a shared Personal Assistant to the Economic & Global Health Ambassadors.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of the UK’s international engagement, supporting two senior Ambassadors in a fast-paced and high-profile diplomatic environment, engaging with global partners including the United Nations, multilateral organisations, and government stakeholders.

Main purpose of job:
As Personal Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Economic and Global Health Ambassadors to deliver their representational and policy work, including public communications, and to provide wider administrative support for the Economic and Health teams where necessary.
This is a dynamic and varied role requiring excellent judgement, organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Personal Assistant (CHEG)
Roles and responsibilities:
- Managing both Ambassadors’ schedules and providing logistical support, including organising meetings, travel and events;
- Leading on the Ambassadors’ overseas visit programmes, collaborating with Desks and Posts across the FCDO network, and with relevant multilateral organisations ( Global Fund, Gavi) to establish programmes and a communication strategy aligned with UK priorities;
- Representing the offices of the Ambassadors and providing an effective channel of communication by engaging with senior stakeholders, Ministerial offices, UN and multilateral agencies, and government officials, conveying clear messages to and on behalf of the Ambassadors;
- Commissioning and coordinating briefing in preparation for meetings with international stakeholders;
- Supporting the management of the Ambassadors’ social media content, and occasionally providing support to the communications team when required;
- Assisting with logistics and administrative support for the wider Economic and Health teams, where necessary;
- Organising events, including official lunches and dinners, and incoming visits, welcoming visitors to the Mission, in coordination with the Visits & Events team;
- Management and oversight of the Ambassadors’ budgets;
- Managing information, including record keeping, file management, maintaining contact databases and updating planning documents;
- Contributing as part of a wider team, including providing cover for senior members of the UK Mission such as the Permanent Representative to the UN and WTO.
Our Ideal Candidate shows:
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, minimum of C1 level according to the CEFR framework*, or equivalent;
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in managing complex diaries with competing priorities, ideally supporting senior stakeholders;
- Strong written communication skills, including drafting clear and concise correspondence or briefing material;
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels;
- Flexible, resilient under pressure, with a proven track record of delivering results to a high standard, within tight deadlines;
- Familiarity with working on social media platforms and experience in producing creative content;
- Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office Word, Outlook).
Nice to have:
- Experience supporting senior leadership ( in a Private Office or similar environment);
- Working knowledge of French;
- Experience working in/with government or international organisations;
- Experience working in a multilateral environment.
