About Our Client
We are hiring for a Photonic Design Engineer - SiNx for a R&D center developing Photonic Integrated Circuits for advanced technology sectors including ground and space communication, quantum technologies, LiDAR, and biosensors. Their expertise lies in the commercialisation of silicon/nitride-core technology.
Role is based in Lausanne.
Job Description
Key responsabilities of the Photonic Design Engineer - SiNx
- Design and optimise photonic components (passive and active).
- Analyse test results to evaluate circuit performance.
- Work on layouts, libraries, and feasibility studies.
- Collaborate with characterisation, process, and yield teams.
- Document designs and contribute to knowledge sharing.
The engineer will work on creating, optimising, and testing photonic components, ensuring they are efficient, manufacturable, and reliable. The job combines technical design, data analysis, and collaboration with different teams, while also supporting customer projects.
The Successful Applicant
Key Achievements for the Photonic Design Engineer - SiNx
- MSc or PhD in photonics or related field.
- 3+ years in integrated optics design and layout.
- Deep knowledge of heterogeneous integration with SiNx (Silicon - Nitride)
- Strong skills in Python and PIC design tools,
- Knowledge of manufacturing/test design principles.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Fluent in English.
