The DevOps SAP Specialist is responsible for defining and executing the overall test strategy for quarterly releases, ensuring high-quality software delivery. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders, coordination with regional teams, and effective management of test execution, defect resolution, and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, along with in-depth knowledge of SAP systems and testing methodologies.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
· Test Planning & Strategy:
o Define the overall test strategy and approach for quarterly releases, covering UAT, Regression, and any other relevant test phases.
o Collaborate with stakeholders (Product owners, L2 & L3) to identify testing scope and entry/exit criteria.
· Coordination with Regions:
o Act as the main point of contact for regional teams during UAT and regression phases.
o Ensure alignment across regions on test scope, timelines, and reporting expectations.
o Facilitate daily stand-ups or sync calls to track regional progress and address blockers.
· Test Execution Management:
o Ensure test cases are set-up by L3 and reviewed & assigned by L2 to respective business users.
o Oversee test execution, logging of defects, and triaging of issues.
o Track test progress using metrics.
· Tool & Defect Management:
o Effective usage of Test management Tool (SAP Solution Manager) - Assist in set-up of Test plan/packages/ test cases, resolving queries and coaching as needed.
o Work with L3 teams for timely defect resolution.
o Monitor defect aging, root cause analysis, and trend reporting.
· Risk & Issue Management:
o Identify and mitigate risks related to test readiness or regional dependencies.
o Escalate critical issues to relevant stakeholders.
· Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:
o Provide regular status updates to stakeholders (L2, L3, Release Team), including KPIs.
o Document test sign-offs and approvals for moving to the next phase.
o Prepare post-release test report and lessons learned.
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
· 5 + years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
· Experience with SAP systems and related testing processes.
· Proven ability to manage test execution and defect resolution.
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· Leadership & Planning: Strong coordination, stakeholder management, and planning skills to work on multiple releases simultaneously.
· Communication: Clear and concise communicator with the ability to work across Business & IT teams.
· SAP Knowledge: High-level understanding of SAP modules & Architecture (SAP ECC, S/4HANA).
· Test Expertise: In-depth understanding of the test lifecycle, tools, automation, and methodologies. ISTQB certification (preferred).
· Analytical: Capable of analyzing defects (root causes) and improving test quality.
· Adaptability: Able to work under pressure, manage multiple regions, and react to changing plans.
· Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with test management tools like Solution Manager, JIRA.
· Development Methodology: Familiar with Agile/Scrum or Waterfall processes.
