Job Description
To further support its growth, NEREID WATER is looking for a seasoned professional to take the role of Senior Process and Thermal Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the optimization of desalination systems and ensure the development of efficient greenhouse cooling solutions for our international customers. He/she will also oversee design and smooth operation of the new systems with other departments
Key responsibilities
Optimization of our indigenous developed desalination systems, transforming prototypes into large-scale manufacturable products
Develop and optimize process models for thermal, fluid, and chemical systems using advanced simulation tools
Perform thermal analysis through process modeling of complete system using process simulation software like ASPEN or ChemCAD and enhance overall system performance & efficiency
Perform fluid dynamics simulations to improve flow distribution using simulation software like ANSYS, Star CCM+ Or OpenFOAM and escalate system performance
Conduct thermal analysis of heat exchanger using COMSOL Multiphysics, ensuring enhanced thermal efficiency
Collaborate with other teams to develop a cleaning mechanism for heat exchange
Develop innovative cooling solutions for greenhouse environments, improving temperature regulation in adverse conditions
Collaborate attentively with the mechanical department to ensure smooth process of design and testing
Ensure compliance with international standards and regulations
Establish and maintain strategic relationships with partners
Identify and resolve technical challenges during the manufacturing and deployment of systems
Document research findings, write technical reports, and present results to stakeholders
Ensure the preservation of NEREID WATER’s mission, values and culture
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Process Engineering, with specializations in Multiphase flow Heat Transfer, Process modeling, and CFD numerical simulations
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, with specializations in Heat and Mass Transfer, Thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and chemical modeling and simulation
Minimum 7 years of experience in design and simulation, ideally in the water thermal desalination industry or thermal R&D industry
Proven track record of managing complex projects with strict budgets and time-limited timelines in the field of thermal desalination or multiphase heat and mass transfer
Extensive experience in process engineering and optimization
Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, mass transfer, and thermodynamics;
Knowledge of experimental validation techniques for fluid and thermal systems;
Demonstrated ability to work in a team in an international and multidisciplinary environment;
Proven ability to work collaboratively in an international and interdisciplinary team
Perfect command of English (mandatory) and French is an advantage
Candidates must hold a valid car driving license
Required software skills
Proficiency in Process modelling & simulation software like Aspen or ChemCad
Good command on Finite element analysis software like ANSYS or OpenFOAM
Knowledge of programming languages ideally C++ or MATLAB
Expertise in CAD/CAM software and simulation tools like SolidWorks
Candidate Competencies
Strong proficiency in thermal analysis and fluid mechanics
Prior experience in leading a new system from design into large scale production
Extensive hands-on experience designing thermal management solutions
Familiarity with materials science as it relates to thermal management for liquid cooling applications
Strong analytical skills and critical thinking to solve complex problems creatively
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to an international and diverse audience
Ability to initiate and lead projects while respecting high standards and tight deadlines
Strategic vision, ability to identify and prioritize necessary changes
Entrepreneurial and proactive spirit, able to alternate between strategic and operational responsibilities
A good listener, adaptable and able to convince and unite
Positive attitude, collaborative approach and resilience in the face of challenges
